What is man upto?

It is not as it used to be before
no longer it bears the sweet fruits it used to bore
this...god's earth has turned into a battlefield
where every man.. is ready with a sword and shield
all we see is killing everywhere
seems like humans have forgotten to care
everyone wants to fulfill their greed
who even looks at the ones really in need?
gone are the days when man put their blood and sweat to earn their bread and butter
and now , man wants a life of luxury without even an utter
what has the world come to??
when will man understand that something he has to do..
WHAT IS MAN UPTO??

with them on trial ,
not an invader is to be seen.

so is their spirit to fight for their country
that the killing of each terrorist is elementary.

their only - known relegion is humanity
protection of their nation is their first responsibility.

sons of proud mother india are they
for whom... their lives they can lay .

in their hands , lies the protection of the motherland
yes...they are the SOLDIERS
the proud sons of hers...

BIRD

Far off in a dense forest
in the branches of a century old tree
lives a creature , you have often heard
that creature is a beautiful bird

it has its house among twigs and leaves
which it itself weaves
the lovely creature
stays safe in the bed of mother nature

it stayed safe from its birth...
but until the day
man came upon earth

when man came...
it put the creature behind the bar
which , from the nature was very afar

" give me freedom ,
i want to fly....
fly to the greatest height...
give me freedom...
flying is my right "

said the bird ..
whenever man came near
nobody heard it..
and it stopped as it sensed fear

this kept on going
the bird kept pleading for freedom
but man never heard

when the bird's end was near
man set it free
so that it does not die here

for a moment or two
the bird was overwhelmed
and wondered how time had sped by
but the next moment
he realised
that he had forgotten to fly

he fell on the ground ,
it lay there unconscious for sometime
and then breathed its last

KILL DESIRE

The cause of all unhappiness , all sorrow in this world is desire
the effect of it in our lives is no less than a building on fire
kill desire...
i have often heared the folks say
about a man who was humble , kind but in rags
he lived alone in his poor hut ,
and was fondly called tim
until the day luck decided to shine on him
and that was the day he got rich
and the poor he began to ditch
the folks then feared him
and hesitated to sit in his presence
as the humble village boy tim,
was now a feared , rich landlord
sir timothy ray kim
as days passed and he became richer and richer
by robbing and cheating the poor
as he always had the desire to get more
and that was the reason why today he is no more
now , i end my words here
but would like to conclude with a message-
KILL DESIRE

TIGER....THE LAST ROAR

A majestic animal
a ferocious beast
a black-striped coat who wore
will it be its last roar ?

there was a day
when there were thousands of them
thousands , at every port
but this did'nt last long
as man began to use it as his sport

a valiant hunter
is now being hunted for
will this be ....
the tigers last roar ?

there are just 1411 left today
has the tiger become
from a predator to a prey ?

the animal and his kin
are being killed mercilessly
for their priceless teeth and skin

if this kept on going
it will be left no more
will this be
the royal bengal tiger's last roar ?

RESPONSIBILTY

Give a child a responsibilty
then comes out his leadership quality
only when you give a child a responsiibility,
you find his hidden ability
his never known capability.
As an individual ,
each one is blessed with a speciality
and to use it... and make your identity
you need to be given a responsibility.

the result  of not taking a responsibility
is always in shame..
because nobody took the responsibility ,
despite having all  the ability.

THE UNKNOWN DISASTER...

Spring had scattered the first occasional flowers about the plain , and the last traces of snow were quickly melting beneath the blinding sun. There was hustle – bustle in the president’s office , many poor children stood in queue’s , waiting for their turn to meet the president . The President was providing free education to the children of disadvantaged groups.. when she(president)  just came out into the balcony , standing there and  started thinking of the today’s  day around 23 years ago.It was the same weather like today , years back , when AN UNKNOWN DISASTER struck...

The snow was melting , winter was bid adieu , the days of cherry blossom were over . mother combed  the snow out of the streets , while me and my siblings quietly watched from our one-room hut. Mother earned just 10 yen a day , as a municipality cleaner  . there were five  of us , and would share a simple meal of cabbage soup in one anothers company , and there were days when we would get no supper. I being the eldest , used to go to sell matchboxes and support my mother in running the household. Mother had the whole household responsibilty after father died , that was two years ago . mother told me about our richer days , when we had pancakes for supper. Oh! How i long that those days come back again. I always had the urge to study , and become successful in life , to acheive something in life.” Tanaka , i am going to the office to collect my daily wage” shouted mother , and my siblings also followed her. It was time for me to leave to sell matches.
In the evening , while coming back home from the sale , i saw a torn book thrown in the  dustbin , i immediately ran and picked it up. A lady saw me do that , she came near me and asked me “ who are you little girl?” , i thought it was her book , she had seen me taking it and would scold me for it , “ sorry ma’am , you can take this book.. i was just learning to read” i closed my eyes hoping that she will shout at me but instead she offered to teach me how to read. She asked me whether we could begin from today ... and i readily agreed . she took me to her house and tutored me for a day. After five hours of teaching i could read a few words and write a few alphabets . the teacher told me to come everyday . i was delighted of this and was waiting to tell  my mother . i soon took leave of the teacher and set homewards , my home was on the opposite side of where i sold matches and also very far away. i was almost halfway home when i saw police jeeps and rescuers going that side... i was puzzled and shocked . i ran and hurriedly reached home , but to my horror i came to know that an earthquake had hit this area , and thousands had lost their lives . my mother and sisters were no where to be seen , in this stampede of people.... the rescuers were taking out the bodies of those who lost their lives and were calling their families.... i still had a ray of hope that mother was alive , then i saw my mother and my sisters lying dead . i was shattered to pieces... and tears rolled through my eyes and i left the place at once , deciding to study hard and help all those like me......

Today i stand here , froma 12 year old girl to a 35 year old president of japan and today i can afford to eat hundreds of pancakes , but not the company in which me and my siblings used to enjoy our frugal together.
